Reusable Moving Bins vs. Cardboard Boxes: Which Should You Use?

Cardboard boxes are the default, but they come with hidden costs: buying them, building them, taping them, and getting rid of them afterward. In a New York apartment, the flattened boxes alone can take up a closet for weeks.

Reusable plastic bins solve most of that. They arrive ready to use, the lids close without tape, and they stack in the truck without crushing. They also hold up to rain on moving day, which cardboard does not.

Cardboard still has its place. Wardrobe boxes are the easiest way to move hanging clothes, and specialty cartons are best for mirrors, art, and TVs. Most moves work well with a mix: bins for everyday items, and a handful of specialty boxes for the awkward pieces.

Our Eco Bins are delivered before your move and picked up after you unpack, so you're not left with a stack of containers to store. It's less waste, less prep, and one less errand in the busiest week of your year.
